Editorial Standards
These are the standards every guide, video page and image on True Trade Guide follows.
Our mission
We only speak the truth. We only help within the category we cover. We always cite our sources, and we’re friendly and easy to do business with. Our objective is to help you find a better alternative, or to confirm that your present choice is already your best choice. We’re creative in how we explain things, but we never exaggerate: we say only what’s true, and nothing misleading or unverified.
Official sources first, and we link them
Guides are built from primary sources: Google’s own help and Search Central pages, the Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov), the Federal Trade Commission and the Code of Federal Regulations (ecfr.gov), the U.S. Small Business Administration (sba.gov), state licensing boards, and software makers’ own documentation and pricing pages. Every guide ends with a Sources list that names each page and the date we checked it.
Software: first-hand or clearly labeled
- We only call something a review when we have used the product ourselves, and we say how we tested it.
- When we describe a product we haven’t tested, we quote the maker’s own page, label it as the maker’s claim, and date it.
- Prices, when we show any, are labeled approximate, with the source and the date we checked.
- We include the possibility that the tool you already use is the right one for you.
State rules are labeled
Licensing, advertising and tax rules differ by state. When we mention one, we label it with the state (for example, “California:”), present it as an example, and remind you to check your own state’s agency.
Numbers
Every number comes from a linked source. We don’t publish made-up statistics, reviews, testimonials, awards, income claims or “#1” rankings.
How these pages are made
We research and draft pages with the help of AI tools, then check each fact against the official source linked on the page before it is published. Opinions are ours and are labeled “In our view”.
Images
Pictures on this site are illustrations created with AI image tools. They are labeled “Illustrative image” and do not show a real business, product, app screen or person. They contain no brand names or logos.
Ads and affiliate links
Ads are labeled “Advertisement”. Affiliate links, if a page has any, sit inside a box labeled “Affiliate links”, with “paid link” beside each one, and the page says so near the top. Read our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, tell us through our contact page or at rolandoc@toprankroi.com, with the page link. We check the report against the source, fix the page if we got it wrong, and show the updated date at the top of the guide.
